We have a full year of events as you will see on the
events page, but may we remind you that these events can
only go ahead if we get the support.
We would like thank those of you that came to the A.G.M,
it was a shame that more of you weren't there to collect
your rosettes, but our congratulations go to all of you, we
would also like to thank Margaret Newing of West Kent
Saddles 07889275988 info@westkentsaddles.co.uk,
for sponsoring our Championship Points Rosettes once again.
A big thank you to Liz Akenhead and Anne Newman who have
resigned from the committee and will be greatly missed.
Permissive Ride
We are sorry to inform you that Mr Ovary has withdrawn
the ride at Pixot Hill. This is very unfortunate as our main
aim is to promote off road riding and we are always trying
to secure more rides, please contact us if you know of any
landowners who would be willing to let us have a permissive
ride.
If you would like to know more or where our rides are
please contact us.
Clear Round
Our thanks go once again to Terry and Caroline for the
use of there facilities, the morning was a great success and
very busy. That brings us on to the next Clear Round on the
5th July we will now be holding this at Terrys , we apologize
for this change. If there is anyone that is unable
to get to Terrys then please email us and we will see if we
can help.
Dressage at Sandhurst Farm
The day went very well, with a good turn out of members,
doing well in the walk and trot. Our thanks go to Jo Walker
for the use of the venue, and also to Kerry Balmer and
Marilyn Green not forgetting Marilyns husband! check
out your placings on results page and photos in the gallery
or at: www.photoevents.org.uk.
Showing Demo At Claybrook Farm
There was a good turn out and the weather was kind to us,
Nicole started of by given us some showing tips then brought
in her 2 ponies Reg and Magic and showed us how she would
get them ready for a show, after tea and biscuits, we were
given a short demo in the sand school. See pictures in
Gallery
Quiz night At Tudeley Oak
We had about 40 people split into 10 teams competing-
just shows you how the mention of "pub" and
"grub" can motivate our members!!!
The evening began at 7pm when everyone turned up to have
a pre-quiz snack and chat. The quiz kicked off at 8ish and I
have discovered I have been blessed with the voice of a
fog-horn! lt became apparent that one of the only good
things to come out of having had 3 kids, is the ability to
SHOUT! you were all very lucky that mid-shout, l didn't go
into "nagging mum" mode and send you all up to
tidy your rooms!
There was only 1 point between 1st and 2nd place, and the
fact that jenny's team 'JAFA' came 1st and my sister's
'FRED's team came 2nd was. l promise, a complete fluke- they
were banned from Kent whilst l printed out the questions!
John and Becky (Landlords) were really sweet and donated
food vouchers for a prize. As the Alzheimer's society is just
around the corner from the pub they are very supportive to
the charity and were more than happy to accommodate us all
at no cost. We raised just over £100 for the charity. The
society does wonderful work, not only with the sufferers of Alzheimer's,
but also with their carers and to some they are a much
needed life-line and sanity saver.
So a BIG thankyou for coming, and to Helen for doing the
scoring and to the staff at the pub for coping with us all.
l hope Kerry and her team are making good use of the
poo-picking gloves and l would like to publicly apologise to
Peter Male- you were right the seats in the House of Lords
are red, but hey, you wouldn't have won even with an extra point!!!Can't
always trust the internet!
Many thanks to those who participated and helped make the
evening a success.
Rib and Ann
We will be trying to run the Dressage to music as this
had to be cancelled at Christmas. We have also introduced a
showing demo and 2 dates for clear round, and of course the dressage's,
summer show, challenge and hunter trials.
It is also time to start thinking about a worming regime
for 2008.Any yearly worming regime should include two
important aspects: 1. Accurate weight estimation 2.The
importance of running worm egg counts at the beginning and
end of grazing season. Your vet can give you all the
information you need.
